one is taken … one is left:This scenario follows Jesus’ example of Noah and the flood (24:37). The righteous will be left, just as Noah and his family were spared (Sir 44:17); the wicked will be taken, as Noah’s generation was swept away by the flood (Mt 24:39; 2 Pet 2:4-10).
