THE WORK OF THE FATHER AND THE SON. CYRIL OF ALEXANDRIA: That the Father is said to have raised from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ (the effect of the act being on his flesh, clearly) is not in doubt. He, being the life-creating and active power of the Father, gave life to his own temple, as in “Destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up.”What was made alive was not another’s body, nor indeed one belonging to a man among us, but his own, the body of the Word.
