Question 5.93
5.93 Do you think therefore that the world has let itself be hypnotized by the Western world?
At the risk of shocking some people, I think that Western colonialism continues today, in Africa and Asia, more vigorously and perversely through the imposition of a false morality and deceitful values. I do not deny the fact that European civilization was able to offer great benefits, particularly with its missionaries, who were often great saints. It spread the word of the Gospels everywhere, along with beautiful cultural expressions that had been shaped by Christianity.
Benedict XVI correctly emphasized [in a 2006 essay entitled âEurope and Its Discontentsâ] that an important element of âEuropean identityâ is âmonogamous marriage. . . both as a fundamental structure for the relation between men and women and as the nucleus for the formation of the state communityâ, and that the institution of marriage was âforged in the biblical faithâ. Conversely, there are repeated attempts to implant a new culture that denies the Christian heritage.
Concerning my continent of origin, I wish to denounce vehemently an attempt to impose false values while using political and financial arguments. In some African countries, ministries dedicated to gender theory have been created in exchange for economic aid! A few African governments, fortunately in the minority, have already given in to pressures in favor of universal access to sexual and reproductive rights. It is very painful for us to note that reproductive health has become a worldwide political ânormâ, containing the most perverse things that the West has to offer to the rest of the world, which is seeking comprehensive development. How can Western heads of state exert such pressure on their counterparts in countries that are often fragile? Gender ideology has become the perverse condition for cooperation and development.
In the West, homosexual persons demand that their life together be recognized legally, so as to be comparable to marriage; echoing their demands, some organizations are exerting massive pressure on African governments, too, to recognize this model in the name of respect for human rights. In this specific case, to my way of thinking, we are departing from the moral history of mankind. In other cases, I have noticed the existence of international programs that impose abortion and the sterilization of women.
These policies are all the more hideous because most African populations are defenseless, at the mercy of fanatical Western ideologues. The poor are asking for a little aid, and some people are cruel enough to poison their minds. Africa and Asia absolutely must protect their cultures and their own values. International agencies in fact have no right to practice this new Malthusian, brutal colonialism. Out of ignorance or complicity, African and Asian governments would be guilty of allowing their people to be euthanized. Mankind would lose much if these continents were to fall into the huge, formless magma of globalization, which is directed toward an inhumane ideal that is in fact hideous, barbaric oligarchy.
The Holy See must play its part. We cannot accept the propaganda and the pressure groups of the LGBT lobbies-lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered. The process is all the more unsettling for being rapid and recent. Why this frenzied desire to impose gender theory? An anthropological vision that was unknown a few years ago, the product of the strange thought of a few sociologists and writers like Michel Foucault, should suddenly become the worldâs new El Dorado? It is impossible to remain complacent in the presence of such an immoral and demonic deception.
Pope Francis is right to critique the action of the devil, who works to undermine the foundations of Christian civilization. Behind this Promethean vision of Africa or Asia there is the mark of the devil.
The chief enemies of homosexual persons are the LGBT lobbies. It is a serious error to reduce an individual to his behavior, especially sexual behavior. Nature always ends up having its revenge.
